Dyrim gave the dead a voice, and could be rung ONCE IN LIFE, TO SEND A MESSAGE TO AND RECEIVE A RESPONSE FROM ONE OF THE DEAD, and ONCE AGAIN IN DEATH, TO SEND A MESSAGE TO A MEMBER OF THE LIVING BUT RECEIVE NO RESPONSE.
Belgaer had the power to erase memories, and could be rung ONLY ONCE, IN EITHER LIFE OR DEATH, TO ERASE ALL THE ABILITIES OF THE TARGET, EITHER LIVING OR DEAD. Unfortunately, Belgaer also had the potential to BACKFIRE, WIPING AWAY ALL ABILITIES OF THE WIELDER, INSTEAD.
Saraneth allowed the wielder to take control of the dead, and could be rung ONCE IN LIFE, TO BORROW ONE USE OF AN ABILITY FROM A DECEASED INDIVIDUAL.
Astarael the Sorrowful, the largest and deepest bell, could be rung ONCE IN LIFE, TO SEND BOTH THE TARGET AND THE WIELDER INTO DEATH.

DID I actually protect the Town twice?
I also regret not last-minute claiming I had one more use of my role, had i been around just one more night. I was just too busy that day to even think about doing that till it was too late. :(

Thus the neutral proposed a competition

upon her another win. But she must not relax
for the other is also pursuing her tracks
and if the other finds her first, then she

Invites people on a pilgrimage with her, picks a player to tell a story, that player is vanilla until they tell her the story (minimum 1 day 1 night but will extend by 1 day 1 night for every phase they don’t tell her a story), wins with 4 stories, picks the best story and gives them a reward (1x deathproof to living winner, 1x revive as vanilla to dead player)
players are told that they must write an original story (no copy paste), are judged on their story, and the best story out of everyone selected will get a reward

- First (and only) Story:
It was the kind of cold, dark night that clung to you like a distant and unreal dream. Something is batting against my head making me dizzy and sick. It’s her. She’s tiny, persistent, and angry. Lighter than an underweight ghost. She’s barely there, but with how she makes herself known you’d think she was 8 feet tall. A raven-haired berserker raining down her fury upon my chest like she was judge, jury, and executioner. Ignoring her is a capital offense. I oblige her sentencing and wake to face the music. 3:57AM. Should have set an alarm.
She directs the few living shreds of my attention towards the amateur symphony cascading against the front door. I don’t expect visitors at this hour. My private life cares less for what I expect than anything else. I look to her for an answer, she looks to me for dinner. Rain. Hard, drumming, pounding rain. It’s been coming down for hours. The door’s third movement is cut brutally short as I open it to let trouble in. Trouble, however, hovers in my doorframe unready to commit. Trouble is tall, legs long enough to give you vertigo. Red as slaughter with a personality to match. She always looks like she’s up to something, and is. My offer to leave her to let herself in is only accepted when my stare vacates hers. Couldn’t let me think she appreciates me too much. I know the game.
Red greets Black. They were always firm friends. Black has been here for longer than I remember. Red just showed up one day and never left. Together they sink their fangs deep enough into my life that I am perpetually reminded I am not the master of my own destiny. No complaints here. They mutually decide I want to make the world’s latest dinner. Two beautiful girls have a way of making you think exactly how they like.
Their hunger is sated, at least in the literal sense. My presence is no longer needed and I relish the momentary quiet. You let them stick around, and they’ll walk all over you. Work doesn’t get itself done and I’ve already been torn away by twin demonessess for 3 days. I go to my desk. Files have piled up further than the drop from common sense to the wisdom of my daily decisions. Messages are backed up, letters unread. I get busy. I pick up the horn to return some angry calls to angrier people as I wash down reality with whatever is left in the desk drawer.
Minutes squeak by in an hour and my progress is halted by a batting hand knocking the receiver out of my ear. Red stares at me. She’s hungry. She wants my attention, and she wants it now. The phone clatters to the ground as she crawls into me trying to take me down. The treatment Black has been giving me shifts from the coldest of cold shoulders to a fiery attack up my arm that not even the bravest man could dare fight off. They tear into me in tandem. I am powerless against their will and the beautiful pain shooting through me demands my full compliance. What starts as play turns into a full on assault. Tongue, tooth, and claw fly in all directions. No part of me remains that has the energy to regret this arrangement. No shred of me cares. I am a prisoner. A slave. And as my crimson valkyrie descends to finish me off I look the devil in the eye and I know...
This is what it is to be a cat owner.
I’ll pick up more treats tomorrow.
