((Oh, oops, I thought the 24-hour clause wasn't in effect until there was a vote for some reason. I think it was because the last update just mentioned that the day wouldn't end until there was a majority vote. My fault for not voting No Lynch as a precaution while I thought more on what to do, but I suppose it doesn't matter in the end.))

Before everyone dispersed, Amumu asked a question. "Well...since we really didn't get to discuss much today --sorry for making such a big mess to clean up... -- should I just wrap up Cecil again and play out tomorrow like it was today? Should I...wrap up anybody?

"No need for that. Besides, Cecil needs to track Sayaka today remember? It's the best way for her to earn our trust. I mean...I believe in her but..I know that everybody is suspicious of one another."

Kyouko sighed, and gave Amumu one more reassuing pat on the head before retreating to her motel room.

'It's alright, Sayaka. I'll wait for you, until this is all over. Then I'll take you to my favorite restaurant and we can celebrate!'

Listeners, it would seem as though we've all been trapped in a collective daydream. We do seem to be waking up, but I'm getting reports of Traverse Towners feeling groggy and unmotivated, getting ditched by their dates for not actively listening, and being scolded by their employers for not finishing their paper pushing.

I would like to note that at this point, if our feather-antagonist never acts antagonistic, we won't gain any new information ((i.e. the night. will last. forever!!)). Specifically, even if I send Wilbur to track Yet-To-Be-Confirmed Magical Girl Sayaka, there's nothing stopping Sayaka from just acting innocent. I think we're going to have to make some hard decisions in the morning, Traverse Town.

((So, as for why I asked about everyone's abilities, the main reason was to confirm a few suspicions that I had with regards to the unknowns floating through the group. In a way, it both exposes and protects us, at least for now.

At the moment we sit at 1:4. Even if mafia had a vigilante shot and killed two people in the night, we'd be at 1:2 with a chance to lynch. This, alone, is massive. Why?

Soren and Kyouko both have a vigilante shot. I have previously claimed to one as well. That means if two people die or get attacked in the night, it has to be one of us three. The two that did not use their shot would immediately be suspicious of the other two, as well as Amumu and Cecil being cleared of suspicions.

The most obvious trick here would be the vigi mafia attacking themself to try and clear themselves of blame, however, Soren lacks a defense of his own. Kyouko supposedly has one charge. I have a protect, so in that regard I could cast it upon myself and attack myself.

As a result, either myself or Kyouko are probably safe bets for tracking purposes. Amumu would be the other, since his situation is... murky.

There's a little more to it, but to avoid rambling, basically it comes down to this: Worst-case scenario, we end up 1:3 tonight. There's virtually no chance of us coming out of this phase at 1:2, and if we did there's a fairly good chance of us lynching the mafia based off of attacks. This is not forgetting that there's a Wrath of God in play, which severely limits the pool of players that the mafia can attack safely. Actually, there are next to no safe targets, which is why I brought up the game of chicken. And regarding that...

@ Cecil: I think you misunderstood me. I was not trying to imply that anyone other than Amumu stunned you. What I was trying to say (as was Soren) is that since Amumu stunned you and there was no kill, that means either you're mafia and you got stunned out of sending in a NK on N4; or Amumu stunned you and didn't send in a NK to frame you; or the mafia is neither of you and happened to not send in a NK, and you got incidentally framed by Amumu.

Thus, it's a game of chicken. If Amumu isn't mafia, then the actual mafia has no way of knowing which target Amumu will stun; whatever they gained from the ambiguity of N4, they'd instantly lose it by attacking. Further, if you were mafia, now you're kind of pigeonholed into not attacking because attacking after Amumu stuns someone else makes you look really, really bad. And lastly, if Amumu is mafia, he can't stun you and also attack, since then you're no longer framed, which makes me wonder why he did it in the first place if he is mafia. Actually, even as non-mafia it's kind of weird. Amumu, why did you stun the only person that has to give unbiased information at rollover? If Cecil tracks someone and someone else is attacked, we gain a lot from it.

At this point, it's most likely in the mafia's best interest to try and frame other people, which is why I favored no lynch yesterday since we had no safe way to go about it without playing into one of the three scenarios outlined above. I wouldn't even be surprised if we didn't see a NK from them tonight as well. But if they did...

Well, we have my save. We have Cecil's tracking, and supposedly his self-save. We have a stun. We have Kyouko's self-save for the moment. We have a WoG. This is very, very difficult for mafia now.

Closing thoughts:

@ Cecil: You are right. I could just act innocent. I can swear that I am the doctor and town aligned, and I could also note that you're technically the most suspicious due to the lack of NK following being stunned. Regardless, if there are any actions tonight, we will definitely need to evaluate come tomorrow. Mildly related, logically you and I have the abilities that become nearly irrelevant as mafia, but supposedly Alcasync RNG'd it, so who knows.

@ Amumu: Using your stun on Cecil limits the information we can get. If you're town, stunning me also prevents me from getting saves off, but I get the feeling that you don't seem to trust me. If Cecil does track me, stunning me doesn't give you more information to work with to determine one way or the other.

Okay, at this point, if the last feather-antagonist never acts at all, we'll just keep lynching folk. If we lynch at random, there's still a good chance (60%) of the feather-antagonist losing:
feather-antagonist winning is (4/5)*(3/4)*(2/3) = 0.4

And this is not including the WoG we have lying around, which will tip things even more in our favor, as well as any other interactions that might play out if the feather-antagonist reveals more info by acting.

I think at this point, the feather-antagonist's really backed into a corner.

Ah, you're right, I did misunderstand you. Yes, if I were mafia and tried to send in a nk, then yes, that stun would block me (and that could be one explanation for the lack of nk). There's no way I can or should hide this possibility.

I also am still confused by Amumu's stun.

"supposedly his self-save": Soren and my interaction makes my role pretty solidly defined now.

Also @Sayaka specifically, I didn't mean to paint you as a prime suspect or anything. I just meant that we really don't have much information in general, and it's easy for the feather-antagonist (whoever was rng'd) to blend in right now. I do think you've been pushing things forward though, so I'll note that you've been demonstrating some pro-town behavior.

At this point, I have a good sense for good tracking targets. I won't disclose who I'm targeting, to make it harder for the feather-antagonist to act.

Soren stretched  out and sighed, relieved  that nothing had happened that day... night... whatever the flow of time dictated it to be.  He wanted to get home as soon as he could, but he had to admit that no deaths came as a bit of a relief.

"It would seem like Sayaka protected Cecil last night, given the lack of a eulogy for Intern Wilbur."

((I'm a bit preoccupied and can't really get in the mindset for a roleplay post. I also don't really have much to say. It feels like we're going to have nothing much to go on for a while.

Yes, I did protect Cecil, since my big worry was that mafia might try and kill off our source of information. In hindsight, that was most likely too obvious of a move for me to make and they anticipated it, but I value Wilbur substantially. Then again, we have no idea if mafia will ever attack.

I do find it interesting that Amumu didn't stun anyone, but it probably doesn't matter.

I see no point in opening up a vote to extend the phase since we have no information to go on, so...))

(( Suggestion. Alca starts enforcing modkills on players who don't post at least once every 24 hours. That way, if mafia wins, it's because they earned it by staying active. If this is going to be a war of attrition, let's at least attrite.
